On Thursday, October 13, 2011, the Centennial Cluster PTAs will host an informational meeting on Special Purpose Local Option IV Sales Tax (SPLOST IV) from 7:30PM - 8:30PM at East Roswell Park. Patrick Burke, Chief of Operations, Fulton County School Systems, will explain this important topic.
In the past, SPLOST funds have been utilized to build new schools (such as Johns Creek HS) and renovate existing infa-structure utilizing a 1 cent sales tax in Fulton County. This coming November 2011, our community will have the opportunity to vote for SPLOST IV. The purpose of SPLOST IV is to build and replace eight (8) elementary schools and two (2) middle schools, provide additional classrooms at existing schools, and provide for renovations/modifications of existing schools and support facilities, safety and security issues, technology, and transportation and debt service costs.
Plan on attending the informational meeting to learn more about SPLOST IV—''It's about making your school ready for the next generation."
